This chapter explains how to create the fixture data for the Vision Control App. This includes the company account, OEM or branding decision, fixture entry, firmware, App Control Configuration, images, and resources.

Do this before production. Production is the later step where physical modules are flashed, updated, and licensed.

What this chapter covers

• Create or request the company account on the Vision Web Service.
• Decide whether the fixture is your own product, an OEM sample, or a branded customer product.
• Create the fixture entry with the correct RDM Manufacturer ID and RDM Device Model ID.
• Upload the firmware, App Control Configuration, product images, icon, and documents.
• Request the fixture release when the implementation and uploaded data are final.

Important

The RDM Manufacturer ID and RDM Device Model ID identify the fixture type. Do not change these values after release. If these values change later, fixtures in the field may no longer be recognized as the same product.

The uploaded App Control Configuration must match the final firmware. If the firmware behavior changes, check the App Control Configuration again before release or production.
